Jamaica's Asafa Powell, winner of the 100m at the IAAF Grand Prix at Rieti last weekend, will compete in Szczecin, Poland on September 17 but is doubtful for the world athletics final in Stuttgart, his agent Paul Doyle said on Monday.
"A decision concerning Stuttgart has not yet been taken. Asafa has run a lot these past few days," Doyle told AFP.
The former world record holder competed in his fifth 100m in a week in Rieti on Sunday, but failed in his bid to set a new world mark as he clocked 9.82sec in the final, having timed 9.77sec in his heat.
The 25-year-old had been targeting the 9.69sec record, held by compatriot and triple Olympic champion Usain Bolt, having set the old world record of 9.74sec on the same track last year.
He was beaten by compatriot Bolt on Friday in Brussels.
