Coach Mills ready to tone Bolt down with Beijing in mind

1 July 2008

World 100m record holder Usain Bolt is too fast at the moment and his training will have to be adjusted if he is to peak for the Olympic Games, says his coach Glen Mills.

Mills said Bolt has been too fast in the last two months. His assessments came after watching the 21-year-old running four sub-10 seconds this season, including his world record of 9.72-seconds and a blistering 9.76 with gas still abundant in the tank.

"He is not at his best right now because we want him to peak in August," said Mills.

"He has been running 9.70s (9.7+) for the past two races and he is a bit too sharp at the moment."
