World champions Tyson Gay, Allyson Felix and Jeremy Wariner are planning to compete in the Adidas Track Classic on May 18 in Carson, Calif., meet organizers announced last week.

Gay, who won the 100 meters, 200 meters and was part of the winning 4x100-meter relay team at last year's world championships in Osaka, competed for the first time this season at the Texas Relays on Saturday. He ran the anchor leg of the winning USA Blue team in the 4x100-relay in a time of 38.63 seconds. He also ran the lead-off leg on a 4x400-meter relay team that did not finish. His 400 split was a personal best 45.23. Gay's schedule before the Adidas meet has not been finalized, but he is considering both the Mt. SAC Relays in California and the Penn Relays in Pennsylvania, both later this month.

The Penn Relays and the Adidas Track Classic are the first two meets in the outdoor USATF Visa Championship Series.

Felix, who won the 200 meters and ran on the gold-medal winning 4x100 and 4x400 teams in Osaka, plans to open her season at the Mt. SAC Relays by competing in both relays.

"My training is progressing nicely and both [coach] Bobby Kersee and I are very pleased with the way things are going," she wrote in her IAAF.org blog. "We are still putting a great deal of work into my endurance while continuing to focus on my start. I've recently had a small weight room added to my house, so I'm pleased to be able to do my lifting and abdominal work at home on certain occasions."

Jeremy Wariner, who won the 400 and was part of the winning 4x400 relay in Osaka, has run the 200 meters twice and the 400 meters once this outdoor season. He also has run on two relay teams, including the winning squad at the Texas Relays on August 5 that included Olympic gold medalist Darold Williamson.

Gay, Felix and Wariner have not indicated in which events they will compete on May 18.
