Russian pole-vaulter Yelena Isinbayeva and American 400m runner Sanya Richards secured half shares in a $1-million jackpot when they completed perfect Golden League seasons in Berlin on Sunday.
Isinbayeva, the Olympic and double world champion, cleared 4.82 metres at the first attempt to see off the Pole Monika Pyrek and her fellow Russian Svetlana Feofanova.
Richards, the only other athlete in with a shot of a sixth win out of six Golden League events, clinched victory in 49.27 seconds, making it the fastest 400m in the world this year.
