Powell back with easy, yet impressive run

10 July 2007

World record holder Asafa Powell looked easy in his return when anchoring Jamaica to victory in the men’s 4x100m relay at the Lausanne Super Grand Prix event in Switzerland, Tuesday evening.

Collecting the baton some five-metres behind British anchor runner Mark Lewis-Francis, Powell impressively ran past the Briton finisher impressively without too much effort to see the Jamaicans home in 38.75.

“This was more like a test run for me,” Powell, who is healing well from a groin injury, said after the race.

“I had no problems with leg so everything looks positive right not.”

Britain finished second in 38.78, while Netherlands took third in 39.37.
