Kim Collins back with 10.27 win in Moscow

30 June 2007

By Gary Smith

St Kitts and Nevis’ surprised 2003 World Championships gold medallist Kim Collins started his silent 2007 campaign on winning note, after taking the men’s 100m dash at the Moscow Luzhniki Cup 2007 on Friday.

Collins, who skipped last season because of injuries, clocked 10.27 to dominate the race and put some light back in his career.

Finishing behind Collins was Russian Igor Gostev in a personal best time of 10.32.

Dmytro Hlushchenko (UKR, 10.40) and another Russian Andrei Yepishin (10.41), who was expected, to at least challenged Collins, finished third and fourth respectively.
