19.62! Tyson Gay runs second fastest 200m ever

Tyson Gay, the hottest sprinter in the world in 2007 clocked the fastest 200-metre time ever when he ran 19.62 seconds into a head-wind to take the men’s 200m dash at the 2007 AT&T USA Outdoor Championships here in Indianapolis, Indiana, on Sunday.

Running our of lane six, Gay, who won the 100m dash on Friday in a blistering 9.84 also into a headwind, led from start to finish to defeat Wallace Spearmon (19.89) and Rodney Martin (20.18).

Allyson Felix won the women’s race with a time of 22.34. Sanya Richards (22.43) also booked her spot to Osaka, after her disappointing run in the 400m.
