Three Jamaicans, including 100-metres World record holder Asafa Powell secured victories in appalling wet and cold conditions at the Pedro's Cup meet in Warsaw, Poland on Wednesday.

Powell, who is the first man to run a hat-trick of world records, won his specialty during the low temperature meeting in a time of 10.02, his first timing over 10-seconds in five months.

The 23-year-old crossed the finish line a long way ahead of his closest challengers at the Orzel Stadium, but said afterwards that the weather was terrible.

"A better time was possible today, but in so low temperature I was afraid to run faster. I have never started in similar conditions," he said shortly after the race on Wednesday.

The Jamaican ace sprinter came home ahead of countryman and training partner Michael Frater, the silver medallist from the Helsinki World Championships last year, and American Olympic 200m champion Shawn Crawford. Frater crossed the line at 10.35secs, while Crawford stopped the clock at 10.50secs.

Powell, who trains with the MVP track and field club on his home soil in Kingston, last timing over 10-seconds was established during the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne in March, a time of 10.03, which he used to secure his first global title in his busy career.

Sherone Simpson, another of member of the MVP track and field club won the women's race in 11.25. The fastest women in both the 100m and 200m made light weight of American Brianna Glenn, who could only manage a time of 11.55.

The third Jamaican winner at the event was quarter-miler Shericka Williams, who posted a time of 52.00 to take the women's 400m dash.
