On May 14 at the Gala Banamex 2006 track and field meeting in Xalapa, Mexico, American former Olympic sprint queen Marion Jones silence her critics with an impressive first time performance since sitting out for 11 months, while opening the eyes of her opponents who were left stunned by her season opener.

However, while her fellow American team mate MeLisa Barber, the 2006 World Indoor 60-metre champion from Moscow, Russia, assessed her performance and was full of praised for Jones, Jamaican Olympic champion Veronica Campbell, said Jones' time wasn't a bother to her.

Following the women's 100m dash at the Adidas Track Classic at Home Depot Center on Sunday, Campbell, the event winner in world-leading time of 10.99sec and Barber, who finished second in the race, were approached to give their views on Jones' recent 11.06 performance and notable, there were different responses.

"That's great. She is, hands down, one of the greatest runners in track history," Barber said. "So it's great to have her running like that."

Meanwhile, despite being happy to see Jones back on the track after such a lengthy layoff, Campbell's response was: "I don't like to analyze my opponents," citing that her main focus is just to concentrate on her preparation for the 2007-2008 season.
