Have You Ever Missed a Meet?

My best friend caught the worse cold ever and had to miss the last meet of the season last year which effected her year standings. Have you ever had to miss a meet?

Yes, I have missed meets. Sometimes for work, sometimes for school, sometimes for sickness. I was lucky that this summer when I got really sick, school was out, and therefore so was the team and I didn't really miss much.

Yes I missed about two years worth ;) Boy did it affect my standings...!

I wouldn't have thought that one single meet would affect her so badly. Everyone has a life off the track, and missing just one meet shouldn't be so heavily penalised.

How did it affect her standings? In most places don't they just go off times? Unless it's jsut local press reporting.

I missed a big meet, it was the Sectional championships. It only hurt me because my coach kicked my ass. I didn't think i had a chance of qualifying for State, so I went to Prom instead. Bad call, I regret it to this day. I only ran relays that year at state, and almost didn't get to go at all!
