I never realized javelins could be so expensive. In doing the research about the Dick Held another poster mentioned I came across a man who rebuilds old javelins to their former glory as well as convert them (most times) to the new rules. For about $100 USD he can convert and rebuild your old javelin, which considering they can cost up to $1,000USD makes some good economic sense, especially if you're very attached to your javelin. He was also trained by Dick Held.
