Ok, off shoot from the meal bar thread.

How serious are you about your health, other than your training for T&F? Do you watch what chemicals you put in your body, abstain from alcohol and meds where possible, and reduce known risks like always wearing a seatbelt, not bungi jumping and so on?

I can't say I'm perfect, but I don't put in things that are bad for me when I don't have to as much as possible. I don't smoke or drink, but sometimes I just need refined sugar and fats (peanut butter cups are needed monthly). I've never understood "athletes" who pollute their bodies to the point of brain damage and still say they are healthy.

I've never understood that either. I mean a bit of a sweet now and then is one thing, swallowing carcinogens that work against your lungs by smoking, drinking till you puke and the sort is just plain stupid. As an athlete you know better. I'm a definite one for wearing my seatbelt. I don't go anywehere until its on and often its on before people can remind me.

Monthly?! Wow, you have some self control.

I have my bad habits too-comfort foods that include lots of rice, cheese and tomatos with beans, all mushed together. Not too bad, all bar the cheese.

But chocolate I need way more often than once a month. Otherwise, I'm pretty good.

Mmmm, cheese is very comforting. I definitely eat more cheese than I should, but I don't drink much milk so I justify it for my calcium needs. :) What you eat sounds like one of those rice bowls from Taco Bell. Could be worse I suppose.

Lol, I probably eat enough in that once a month to balance out the rest of the month. I normally have carob the rest of the month instead of chocolate.

I'm also big into low fat smoothies with non-fat milk and fruit and a bit of honey. Pretty fillign and sweet enough to seem bad for you but not really. ;)

I am no fan of smoothies at all, I just couldn't get into them. I have tried a few different recipes at various times, and next to nothing interests me. Cheese though can be not too unhealthy-there are fat free cheeses that could make it better.
