I was reading some information today while researching sneaker materials and their uses that suggested replacing your sneakers every 400-500 miles. About how often do you replace yours and would you estimate its more or less often than this figure?

Probably more often for me. I tend to be very heavy wearing on the outside heel of the one shoe because of a congentital ankle problem, and so they wear very badly on that side. They are not supposed to take the battering that they do in that part, so they wear out too fast. I guess every few months.

I try to replace mine every 2-3 months or whenever they show signs of major wear or the footbed seems to be compressed badly. I should try to estimate how many miles I put on them in a week sometime for fun.

I keep two pairs of sneakers for traniing so I can alternate between them to limit compression of the foortbed and allow time for sweat and such to dry out. So I probably replace them less often despite how much I run. I'm thinking normally twice a year, which would average out to every three months if I only had one pair.

I am pretty bad actually when it comes to this. I just don't like parting with my money, and so I replace them once a year unless they fall apart or stink to high heaven. Horrible I know.

George man, that's painful! You realise don't you that your knees and back could be suffering because of it? They won't be getting the support that they need.
