Richie's thread about bad exercise got me thinking. Are there any T&F events that tend to be bad together? Like, would throwing the javelin screw up your shot put technique?

I dunno, it used to be you did many of the track and field events as an athlete instead of focusing on just one or two so I would guess not. Its not like horseback riding and ballet where you train your muscles to do two different things.

I agree, I think its less about what exercise you are using to train than the techniques when you compete in a particular event. I mean we work on cadio, weights, and endurance which are all unique types of fitness, and none of those really conflict with each other.

Certainly the throwing events should be ok together. I can't really think of anything that would be bad for another event in truth-though something that builds too much muscle mass might slow down a sprinter perhaps, or make a jumper too heavy.
