As the beginning of her season approaches, Sanya Richards is keeping very busy. If she’s not training or traveling, she’s playing host to a group of international journalists and planning out her 2007 season. In this third installment of her IAAF Diary, the 2006 female World Athlete of the Year talks about her recent visit, and a unique proposal she made to MTV.

"I had about 10 media personnel including videographers, photographers and journalists, follow me around for two days. It was awesome! The first day was good as they saw me running and we had a sit down interview but the second day was much better. They got to see me doing the things I enjoy doing off the track. The first thing we did was go to Pilates. I usually do Pilates twice a week so they got to see me with my instructor doing a session where I do great stretches on the pilates machines."

"Then we went to the salon where my sister, Shari, works and she did my hair. They got to hear a little salon girl talk, which I though was great. Then we went to the mall. I love to shop and we went to my favorite store and I modeled a few outfits for the camera. Then we went to the airport to pick up my boyfriend, Aaron Ross. He was coming in from Phoenix where he trained for the football combine. It was a nice full day and I had a good time with all the media personnel."

"My parents were there as well. They really enjoyed talking with the journalists, my Dad especially because most of the journalists are soccer fans. My Dad really loves talking about soccer so he was happy to engage people that were equally as enthusiastic. He had a really good time. They also interviewed my parents while at our house."

On a proposal she pitched to MTV:

"I think I have a great concept for a reality show. When I was in Rome last year in my room I wrote a letter for MTV sharing my idea for cameras to follow Aaron and I as I prepare for the Olympics and Aaron prepares for his rookie season in the NFL. I think it’s a great concept because people don't know what it takes to train for the Olympics, and football is so huge in the states so there would be a huge fan base eager to see how a rookie copes in the NFL."

Setting out her spring schedule:

"I still plan to open my season in Arlington (Texas) on the April 14th, however I will be running the 100 as well as the 200. Then our tentative schedule is:
21 April - Michael Johnson Invitational - 400
28 April - Penn Relays- 4x4 and 4x1
5 May - Osaka- 400
19 May - Carson
10 June – Prefontaine"

"I am really excited about the season starting. I have been training for a long time and its time to start competing. I have a lot of goals this season and it’s easier to stay motivated when you're racing and seeing the results of the hard work."
