I've been having some issues with tension across the laced part of my shoes lately. When I tried lacing them differently the laces untied which made it even worse. How do you lace and tie your shoes?

The last time I paid attention at the shoe store the guy helping me showed me a bunch of different ways to lace shoes depending on the shape of your feet. There is one way for a high arch, a low arch, a narrow heel, etc. I'd have a shot at Googling for that kind of info or maybe on a website for Nike, etc?

I've never heard of different methods of lacing, I always just loosened if it was too tight in a particular place. Would perhaps some kind of elasticated laces (I've seen that kind of thing for kids) help you, being that they would be self tensioning?

I hadn't either. You can cross them right over left or left over right, skip sections, not cross sections and all other sorts of ways to change how your shoe fits. It kind of makes sense when you think about it, although I can't imagine how they thought of it.
