There is so many ways to run the 200M.What we do in practice is run 4X150 Which helps us with running the first 150M,but my way of running the 200 is sprint the 150M.Then start lifting your legs as you reach the finish line.

I've always had more results by sprinting the first 100-150m. I normally vary the distance based on what I perceive to be happening around me to some degree.

My preference is to maintain the sprint for as long as possible. As with grasshopper this will vary according to the pace of those I am running against, because if they are holding back and appear as though they will use a last minute burst, I need to save some to match them at that point.

You should be able to run nearly all-out for the 200, don't be one of those kids that tries to use strategy to win their race instead of actually running fast. What i'm trying to say is that if you can't sprint an entire 200, you shouldn't be running it at all.

You need to be in shape for any kind of T&F events, but it's not the best time of year exactly to be having big aspirations depending on where you are. But spring is coming and it will be much easier for you to start working on it.

But on the other hand now could be the perfect time to start working out. There are things that you can do in your own home to make it easier when you start working out for real, and so it's less embarassing! Now is a good time to build up to it.

i dnt know what you are talking about start lifting your legs a 200m is a sprint race man jus luk at the record on that 19.36 you dnt get tha by lifting legs or concentrting on the first 150. you need to go out hard johnstons splits work out at a world record 100m pace. if you need to practice anyfin gt ya speed enurance up there, learn how to drive out hard on a bend and the transtition off it once you have tha down then you can gt serious about 200's.:p :p:p

The fastest sprinters in the world can only maintain maximum speed for 1-2 sec. With that in mind I would drive out and accelerate hard for 0-40 or 50, Float to about 100 or 110, reaccelerate then just relax. No one can go all out sprint a 200m. I used to think the 200m was an all out sprint. There has to be a conservation of energy somewhere. A great site that explains a lot of that is www.athletesacceleration.com. Then look up an article called 200m training.
