I noticed that during the World Championships many of the foreign track and field athletes have at one time or another attended college in the USA. I was wondering if the Track and Field community in the USA believes that such awards of apparent scholarships to foreign athletes in any way diminishes 'opportunities' for USA High School athletes attempting to run in college? Is there an impact on the subsequent availability of scholarship opportunities for USA HS athletes?

It might be some that are loosing their place, but I would rather say that the colleges are attracting very good talent and using this to help their current talent.

I believe that if you have some good people in your track and field squad, you will be able to lift up alot of other people that might not have been able to perform ifnot in the company of the greater ones.

By attracting the best athletes in the world the US has the advantage of building theri own to become the best as well. It is like Timberlake said, the best help the rest.

I think this has been working for the US for many years
